An open fire greets you in the main sitting room with games and a library. A sun-filled morning room presents a delicious breakfast of local produce and the doors open onto the oak shaded garden for a delighful wander. Sit by the pond with a cuppa, chat to the chooks, we look forward to greeting you when you join us for your relaxing escape, family get together or time with friends. Come and enjoy. Coming to Islay...
The Studio - a new unique venue for dance, music, weddings, book launches, art shows, talks, workshops!
The Studio was a building in the garden of my family home where my Mother taught dance well into her nineties. At the end of her life and after the heartbreaking sale of the family home, the unthinkable became evident: New apartments were planned and The Studio was destined for landfill.
We had to rescue the building. Saving The Studio became the motivation for our tree-change to Woodend. We carefully demolished it, found and bought Islay House, sold up in Melbourne, transported the building in pieces to its new home and now, in the coming months, The Studio will be re-built in the garden at Islay House. With a new home and purpose, The Studio will again host dance, classes, music, events, weddings, talks, book launchs, intimate gatherings and creative evevnts.
